2009 Review
In 2009 Unipart Group improved its profits on continuing operations and continued to win business with both new and existing clients.
In the retail sector, new relationships with Sainsbury’s and Kimberly Clark went live during the course of 2009 and contracts with BSkyB were expanded to include a five year support contract for their rapidly growing force of engineers. Within rail, the Group continued to expand its contracts both internationally and with London Underground and Cross Rail. Unipart’s consulting practice secured additional business with clients in the private, public and financial sectors.
During the year the Group successfully supported the launch of the new Jaguar XJ; secured new contracts to supply exhaust systems to Aston Martin, Bentley, Lotus and Cooper Works; and agreed a single source supply agreement on fuel tanks with Jaguar Land Rover.
Central to the Group’s continuing success is the Unipart Way – the Group’s proprietary approach to engaging employees in continuous improvement. The Unipart Way has been a significant factor in winning and growing business for the Group with new and existing customers.
