
2010 Review
2010 has seen a return to growth for the Group with turnover increasing and profits almost doubling. The results reflect good performances and growth across most of the Group’s
businesses together with some significant new business wins.
Within logistics the Group has had major contract wins with Virgin Mobile and Homebase and has opened a new dedicated repair centre for BSkyB, a purpose-built fulfilment centre in Barnsley for ASOS - creating 1,000 jobs and seen continued growth in the partnerships with both Vodafone and Jaguar.
The Group’s consulting arm, Unipart Expert Practices achieved new business wins in the NHS, banking and Government and manufacturing operations saw a rapid increase in volumes. The Group’s international distribution and manufacturing arm, Unipart International, achieved its best overall performance for the last five years and the Group’s rail business has seen growth in Australasia, Western Europe and North America markets through sales of key UK developed products.
Central to the Group’s continuing success is the Unipart Way – the Group’s proprietary approach to engaging employees in continuous improvement. The Unipart Way has been a significant factor in winning and growing business for the Group with new and existing customers.
